Book club

UFPC's Book Group for 2019-2020 meets from 7 to 8:30 on the first Thursday of each month in the Parish  Hall, skipping December.

This year we will be reading the following  selections chosen by Members of the group in June:

September 5 - A Tale of Two Cities (Charles Dickens)

October 3 - A Gentleman in Moscow (Amor Towles)

November 7 - The Last Hurrah (Edwin O'Connor)

January 2 - Almost Everything (Anne Lamott)

February 6 - Enlightenment Now (Stephen Pinker)

March 5 - Educated (Tara Westover)

April 2 - The Undoing Project (Michael Lewis)

May 7 - No Common War by  Luke Salisbury.

June 4 - Something Happened (Joseph Heller)

We  try to balance styles and genres. This year we have 5 novels and 4  non-fiction (2 memoirs, 1 biography, 1 social sciences).

All  are welcome. Bringing light snacks to share is optional, and there is  no shame to not being able to finish a book - we are usually quite  successful at enjoying one another's company, even when a busy month  gets away from a few of us.

The UFPC Book Club schedule is also available as a Google Calendar.
