Spirit Circles

A New Model of Lifespan Religious Education and Family Ministry

At United First Parish Church (UFPC) we engage in summer Chalice Circles, Soul Matters Sharing Circle small group ministry, and now SPIRIT CIRCLE, which is another way to embody lifespan Unitarian Universalist religious education. With the new name comes a new idea. For UFPC, and many other faith communities, we have been struggling with using old models of education that are not serving everyday lives of members in a modern world both religiously and spiritually...an alternative is here!

INTENTION: In this coming year 2022-2023, with the creation of SPIRIT CIRCLE, UFPC is going to infuse a spiritual lift into the community for children, youth, and adults simultaneously. Beginning September 18th, 2022, we are cultivating the co-existence of our religious and spiritual lives through spiritual practices, enrichment, and experiential learning. The Divine Wisdom of our 7 Unitarian Universalist Principles will guide us directly into the heart of our Faith in Action. It is with commitment and grand excitement we offer you an invitation to experience a NEW MODEL of education here at United First Parish Church.

FOUR COMPONENTS OF SPIRIT CIRCLE:  Mindfulness, Music and Creativity, Earth Carers, and Worship. The goal is to build community from the inside out and then integrate what we learn into our everyday lives. We become a relevant community by moving together future- forward into the 21st century. Mindfulness supports our sense of calm and internal practice of peace; Music and Creativity offer a spiritual life force that is palpable with the sense of joy, and sensory connection; Earth Care offers us an opportunity to join in greater union with our Earth as we transform our suffering planetary through healing ways; and Worship is at the center of our religious-spiritual life. It is the central pulse which provides learning, inspiration, wholeness and holiness as we join with one another on Sacred Sundays.
