As a religious tradition, Unitarian Universalists hold diverse and inclusive beliefs. We have no shared creed. Rather, UUs emphasize the shared values of interdependence, pluralism, justice, transformation, generosity, and equity—all centered around love. Although Unitarianism and Universalism both have origins as liberal Christian traditions, today we embrace diverse teachings from many different global religions and philosophies.
Unitarian Universalists believe more than one thing. We think for ourselves and reflect together about important topics like the following:
We are united in our broad and inclusive outlook, and in our values. We are united in shared experience: our open and stirring worship services, religious education, and rites of passage; our work for social justice; our quest to include the marginalized; our expressions of love.
